THE WINNER:

Speechless
D has plenty of time on his hands. He could be doing all sorts of thins… but generally he isn’t doing very much. Disillusioned with just about everything around him, he takes solace in gangsta rap and bags of family sized crisps… And texting.

THE FINALISTS:

A Plastic Toy Dinosaur
Morgan, a nine-year-old boy, is picked up by his absentee father, Rod for his weekly visit. By the end of the day, Morgan has realised that his dad is just as fragile and immature as himself, and that age means nothing when parents cannot communicate with their children.

The Duellists
Free-running meets free-media when two late night tracuers are caught on CCTV as they engage in a fierce and acrobatic competition in the Manchester Arndale shopping centre. Filmed entirely using the in-house CCTV network with a soundtrack created from the environmental noises recorded during production.

Night of The Hell Hamsters
On a dark and stormy night, a young babysitter and her boyfriend fool around with the occult, summoning up a demon that possesses the family hamsters – and suddenly pitting them against a murderous, furry, bloodthirsty supernatural evil from the very pits of Hell!

Ode to the Odeon
The Odeon St Albans was once a vibrant well loved cinema, closed in 1995 it has been left to rot and deteriorate. A landmark building threatened with demolition for flats, the local community has responded to give it a chance to be restored.

Broken
The year is 1968 and 14 year old Greek Cypriot girl Chrystalla arrives in London to meet her father Solomon after 4 years apart, only to find that he’s not the man he seems to be.




TEZ
Tez is in his car and having a BAD day.
Featuring multi-talented comic actor Alex Lowe in the title role as well as playing all the other characters, Tez is a superbly foul-mouthed and very British comedy creation.

Hoopla
A boy and a girl are coming to the end of their first date and a challenge is set: can he walk her home without touching the floor! It’s not just benches and people that they negotiate, but each other too. They have their own secrets but can they put the past behind them, stop playing games and be honest?

Contractual Freedom
Made in response to the Governments ID card proposals, Contractual Freedom is one mans critique of personal information data storage and the trading of such.

A Bout De Truffe
The Truffe is Out There
After years of searching, jean Dubois, a struggling truffle hunter, makes the discovery of a lifetime. With devastating results on his relationship with his pig/partner/lover, Carinne.

Homeless Me
A contemplative look at the life of a man living in a makeshift hut on a riverside in Tokyo. Akira shuns Japan’s highly structured and pressurised society, but is he closer to a knife-edge than he lets show?
