ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Films of any
genre are welcome.
2. Each film must be no longer than 15 minutes.
3. The film can be shot using any type of film as long as the entry is
received on DVD.
4. Please label each DVD with the name of the film
along with contact name, phone number, postal and e-mail address of the director or
producer.
5. A minimum entry fee of £15 must accompany all
entries to cover administrative costs. Please you’re your cheque payable to
The Big Issue Ltd.
6. Filmmakers may submit a maximum of 2 films, a
minimum entry fee of £15 must accompany each entry.
7. Film
entries must have been produced within 18 months of the submission deadline and may
not have been entered into previous Big Issue Film Festivals.
8.
Entries must be received in The Big Issue office no later than Friday 26th October
2007.
9. Please ensure you have authority to enter into these
arrangements and that the material submitted is free from any right or interest of
any third party; conditional or otherwise. Filmmakers should be aware that the Big
Issue reserves the right to use their submission for promotional purposes - this
may include use on web, TV and other forms of media owned by us or our supporters.
10. The Big Issue accepts no responsibility for any lost or damaged
entries.
11. If you would like your entry returned please enclose a SAE
with the correct amount of postage with your entry
12. The organisers
will do as they see fit with entries if no SAE is enclosed.
13. If
entrants have not heard from The Big Issue one month after the closing date please
assume you have been unsuccessful.
14. Finalists will be advised in
advance of their screening and will be requested to supply another copy of their
film on DVD.
15. Any entries that do not meet the guidelines above will
not be entered into the competition. Please send your entries to: The Big Issue
Film Award 1-5 Wandsworth Road, London SW8 2LN. And don't forget: name; telephone
number; postal and e-mail address of director and/or producer; title of film; brief
synopsis date made; film print gauge; aspect ratio; sound; SAE if you would like
your film returned; £15 minimum donation. The Judging Process: Judges Winner
and The Big Issue Film Award team in London will judge the entries on style and
content in order to short-list 10 finalists. Our panel of well-respected film
industry figures will then judge the final 10 to select an overall winner.
Screenings: If you are one of the 10 finalists you will receive a pair of
complimentary tickets for the screening of your work, but you need to be prepared
to travel to the venue at your own expense.
